Northwest Missouri State overcame a first half deficit to top Central Oklahoma 76-70 Thursday night and run its win streak to 12 in a row.
The Bearcats (23-4, 19-2 MIAA) struggled to slow the Bronchos down through the first 20 minutes. UCO shot 50-percent from the field and used a 6-0 run to grab the lead at halftime.
Northwest got rolling in the second half hitting on 51.9-percent of their shot attempts and knocking down 11-of-13 free throw attempts. The Bearcats took the lead on a layup by Wes Dreamer with 12:35 remaining in the game and led the rest of the way.
Dreamer put up a team-high 21 points.
Bennett Stirtz added 20 points. Daniel Abreu also hit double-digits with 16.
Northwest wraps up the regular season Saturday in Joplin against Missouri Southern. Game time is 3:30pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5/KRNW 88.9 begins at 3pm.
