The Bearcat women dropped their first game of the season to number 18 Fort Hays State, 62-48.

Northwest led by 3 at halftime and held Hays to 0-of-7 three-point shooting, but the Tigers outscored the 'Cats 24-10 in the 3rd quarter to take the lead for good.

Caely Kesten and Kelsey Fields each chipped in with 10 points.

The Bearcats are back in action Saturday taking on Nebraska Kearney on the road. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m. with the pregame show on KXCV-KRNW beginning at 1:30.
