Five Bearcats scored in double figures as the Northwest Missouri State men's basketball team dropped Simpson College 101 to 66 in the final non-conference action at Bearcat Arena Wednesday afternoon.
The Bearcats opened up a 48-39 lead at halftime, but followed with a 31-to-9 run to start the second half.
Northwest sophomore guard Trevor Hudgins posted 22 points, five assists and no turnovers. Ryan Hawkins added 21 points and 6 rebounds.
Bearcat head men's basketball coach Ben McCollum says the game was a good tune up for the rest of the season and that they were able to regain a little bit of rhythm after nine days off.
The Bearcats improve to 11-and-1 and will host Northeastern State Saturday afternoon as part of a women's/men's MIAA Doubleheader.
The women's game will tip off at 1:30 and the men 3:30. KXCV-KRNW and the Bearcat Radio Network will have the broadcast of both games beginning at one o'clock with the pregame for the women.
