ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The St. Joseph Public Library invites the community to a special art exhibit at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.
The event showcases artwork created by participants of the library’s first-ever Creative Aging art classes.
Led by teaching artist Annie Corrington, the drawing classes encouraged adults 55 and older to explore their creative potential in a supportive environment.
Co-founder of Lifetime Arts, Maura O’Malley, emphasized the program’s positive impact on older adults, shifting perceptions of aging toward optimism, engagement, and joy.
The exhibit is open to the public, offering an opportunity to view the artwork and meet the artists.
This initiative was funded through a grant from the Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Grant and developed in collaboration with Lifetime Arts, the Missouri State Library, and others.
